AFS Intercultural Fair

26/1/2008

On 26th January 21 CHECSS boys went to Sha Tin Pui Ying College to join the AFS Intercultural Fair.

This fair is an annual event featuring various aspects of culture from different parts of the world including Asia, Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. All activities were conducted in English and it was a great opportunity for CHECSS boys to use English to communicate with people from other countries in an informal setting.

Classrooms were turned into ˇ§Countriesˇ¨. The AFS exchange students from 15 countries, led the activities with the help of volunteers from other Asian countries such as Japan, Malaysia and Thailand. Students were exposed to different cultures through games, dance, song, drama, food tasting and sports. Students were given a ˇ§Global Village Passportˇ¨ to collect stamp chops after engaging in the ˇ§Countriesˇ¨ activities.

At the end of the day, our students came to know more about different parts of the world. They also became more confident in speaking English to each other while spending a wonderful Saturday afternoon together.
