Dr. Anne Ma, Deputy Head of the English Department at the Hong Kong Institute of Education, was invited to our school to present a talk on Interactive Teaching on December 13, 2005 for the English Panel members, prior to her class visits to our English lessons on February 23, 27 and 28, 2006. Though the talk only lasted for one and a half hours, we already got a clear picture of how to teach more interactively in class. The first thing we realized was that interactive teaching was nothing new or mysterious. Dr. Ma showed us concrete examples of how to promote interaction between teachers and students using a variety of teaching materials. With Dr. Ma's precious opinion and our effort, I am sure we will be able to make English lessons more interactive and raise students' interests in learning English.
